The Hyundai Veloster, a sports coupe released in 2011, has one door on the driver’s side, and two doors on the other (Left and Right depending on local driving laws). A commercial designed for Dutch television by Amsterdam agency Fitzroy was considered too controversial for airing by the Hyundai board. With Hyundai’s permission the ad is now out there on the internet. A woman has two chances at dealing with Death, one in a standard car, and one in a Hyundai Veloster.
The Veloster Death ad was developed at Fitzroy Amsterdam by creative director Jur Baart, art directors Wouter Vanhaeren and Tjerk-Jan Oort, copywriter Merlijn van Vliet, and project manager Nazli Parlayan.
Filming was shot by director Tom Rijpert with director of photography Mick van Dantzig, executive producer Jelani Isaacs, make up artist Guido Kooiman, VFX artist Bucko Arends, composer Jorrit Kleijnen, and sound designer Yorick Coster.
